POST COVID-19 PROTOCOL

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOL POST COVID-19

 
These measures have been designed to rebuild confidence among consumers and to provide guidance to travel providers. They are based on the available medical evidence and following guidelines from the World Health Organization and Special Republican Commission on COVID-19 of Uzbekistan. 

According to that, all staff involved in the very industry must be retrained in infection control, social distancing and enhanced hygiene measures, including hand-washing and the use of masks and gloves. Here are the main guidelines. 

 
HOTELS
♦ Lobby, waiting rooms, corridors, elevator stairs, bathrooms and sanitary facilities must be disinfected every 8 hours, common objects (door handles, elevator buttons, table in the waiting room, reception) - at least every 2 hours.
♦ It is necessary to ensure access for visitors and personnel to sanitizers, which should be available or installed at all public facilities (elevators, sanitary facilities, currency exchange points, restaurants, etc.).
♦ Hotels must have visual signs that social distancing and hand sanitization is required. The inscriptions on the plates should be made also in English.
♦ At the entrance to the building, all visitors should regularly measure the temperature. Also, all guests entering the hotel must undergo disinfection.
♦ The hotel needs to create and constantly have a stock of personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, etc.) for each employee and client, enough for at least 5 days.
♦ If the occupancy of the hotel is 50% or more, then there must be a full-time medical staff.
♦ In one room can accommodate no more than two people, if it is a family, then no more than three members of one family.
♦ Rooms are sanitized prior to guest arrival and every morning with chemicals recommended by the authorities.
♦ All personnel should wear masks and gloves.
 
RESTAURANTS
♦ At the entrance to the restaurant, all visitors should measure the temperature and undergo hand disinfection.
♦ Tables should be set due to social distancing norms and sanitized before / after each usage.
♦ Menu and bill folders must be sanitized after each use.
♦ Hand sanitizers must be available in all restaurant rooms and toilets.
♦ Service staff must wear protective masks and gloves, and sanitize their hands regularly during shift.
 
RAILWAYS
♦ At the entrance to railway stations, all passengers will go through automatic thermal scanning and disinfection.
♦ All carriages’ interior including restaurant compartment (door handles, seats, armrests, tables, luggage cupboards and aisles) must be disinfected before each departure.
♦ Railway stations and on-board staff should wear masks and gloves.
♦ No boarding restrictions have been introduced. 
 
COACH COMPANIES
♦ All vehicles’ interior (door handles, armrests, trunks, luggage cupboard and aisles) must be disinfected twice a day, before and after the excursion.
♦ It is necessary to ensure access for passengers and drivers to sanitizers, which should be available or installed at the entrance (exit).
♦ Drivers should wear masks.
♦ No boarding restrictions have been introduced. 
 
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
♦ All sightseeing points must be disinfected daily before opening hours.
♦ Visitors will go through automatic thermal scanning while entering the monuments.
♦ At sites it must be ensured social distancing for visitors through special signage. 
 
GUIDES
♦ Guides should be fully familiar and trained in the new policies, including social distancing, the use of thermal scanning and the wearing of facemasks. 
♦ No other special guide requirements have been introduced yet.
